{Framing Fun}

I'm taking a basic framing & special effects class online thru the amazing Jessica Sprague. Here was my first assignment complete. I took this of my boys a couple of weeks ago when the Disney Christmas train was down town promoting the new Christmas Carol that will come out this fall. The line was too long so we went to look at other trains. The frame and the word art are both from Sam. Also I wanted to show off the texture & brushes tools I've been learning to use (also from Sam), so the bride looks like she's in a much more dramatic world... sorta cool, and makes me happy!

As the end of the year is coming closer I've decided that I'm going to take December off from portrait sessions so I can work on my new website for my re-grand opening in the new year. I recently attended the annual convention as a new active member of the Intermountain Professional Photographers Association and have realized that my business needed some revamping... along with my prices. Apparently my skill has succeeded my pricing and there will be adjustments there as with other things in my business with the new year. So anyone that would like to book a session before the last day of November I will be holding my pricing and procedures for these sessions. The cost is $40 for up to 1 hour ($60 if I have to travel more than 30 miles from my home in Weber County). That price is for a group up to 6 people. $5 more for each additional person and $10 per animal if you want your pets in the portraits. I touch up the shots in PhotoShop CS3 and you get your full resolution images on CD with a copyright release that doesn't expire. YES! Believe it or not, all that for $40. So take advantage of me now while you can!! Really I don't mind, cause it's not gonna last long. {My New Toy!! Hee Hee!!}

I can not explain the excitement over here!! I just got myself my first Mac. It is a MacBook Pro 15" widescreen notebook. It is absolutly beautiful & I haven't even turned it on yet. I'm so overwhelmed!! My old laptop that I have had for the past 4 years finally fell apart (literally) this last week and I needed a new laptop for these classes I'm taking in March and for the wedding I'm shooting in April. I've been wanting to go to Mac for a long time. I've been told that when it comes to my photography and digital editing and design, it can't be touched. Can't wait to put it into action and to learn how to use this new beast.
