{ABUSE!!!}

A couple of months ago I bought a book on how to be "safe, confident, and successful" while dating. Although I didn't dig into it right away I was checking the author, Alisa Goodwin Snell, out online. Apparently she is right here in Ut, a LMFT, and hosts the Ask Alisa radio call-in show. I hopped on her website and signed up for her e-mail updates on future appearances, after watching her on Good Things Utah. While I was on my Church History Tour last month I was in the hotel room one night checking my e-mail (one of the lucky nights I had Wi-Fi) and had received an e-mail invitation from her. She was looking for qualifying individuals who would appear on Inside Edition, in return they would receive 3 months of date coaching from her (she is known as Utah's Dating Coach). I jumped on that so fast, took the questioner to see if I qualified and sent in my interest. I heard back from her shortly after my return from my trip letting me know I qualified and if I was available that weekend for the Inside Edition filming. Happily I was and so... I will be on Inside Edition sometime next month (as soon as I know the official air date I will post it) talking about how to recognize abusive behavior withing the first 3 dates. I've already started my coaching with Alisa and am SO happy about the things I'm learning. This is a goal setting and accountability program and has been so worthwhile! :)

{Word Worshiper}

This is me and my cute and awesome speed reading teacher, Kristen. She is a professor at the U, teaching writing. Tonight was our last class (WSU), but I plan on returning and doing this class again next summer. If anyone wants to join me, let me know. It is such a great class!!! Anyway Kristen said something pretty awesome tonight. "To me, words are like...chocolate!" I love her enthusiasm for words, and reading, and learning. It's completely contagious, although I already have a passion for those things, it's just wonderful to meet someone else who is just as much, if not more (which in her case she does). Thanks again Kristen!!

{Fast as Lightning... well almost}

I've been taking a Speed Reading class every Monday night at WSU. It has been phenomenal!! Worth every penny... especially since I can repeat the course every year for the rest of my life without having to pay for it again. Whoo Hoo!!! When I started the course I was reading 220 words a minute. I can now read up to 580 wpm with the new techniques I have been learning. I also retain the information and my comprehention is up. My teacher, Kristen, is such an awesome gal. She has such a passion for this stuff and really spreads her enthusiasm. I'm also working on expanding my vocabulary... so I can come across as smarter. But all you lucky Lele life blog readers will know the real truth... and that's okay.
